“ This is a mom-and-pop shop serving Filipino classics. Service was great, all the servers were attentive and nice. We got the lumpia, the milkfish, and the chicken adobo sushi roll. I enjoyed the lumpia and the milk fish was crispy. The chicken adobo roll was interesting but next time I will probably stick to more of the classic dishes. We also got the halo halo for dessert which was very good. ”

“ The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars is because the food was pretty good. We placed our order with the younger girl (who was super nice) and the older of the two women came out and pressured us into ordering the adobo sushi which we didn't want but she was persistent so we said okay. I was honestly a little surprised when I saw it on our bill at the end. I still paid for it but this tactic will definitely make me hesitant to return no matter how good the food was. If someone has already submitted their order (Appetizer to dessert) don't come back out and pressure sell them into another item. Thankfully I work in south SF and have access to other really good Filipino restaurants. ”

“ Visited here recently, as I hadn't been since they first opened, and I wasn't immediately impressed. I like Pilipino food. I lived in Olongapo for a couple of months, and got familiar with the food of the Philippines, and I have eaten a lot over the years. Tambayan makes a lot of the favorites! Lumpia, Pancit, Adobo, etc. We had pork lumpia, pancit with chicken and a dish with pumpkin and other squash. The food all came out fresh and piping hot - which I really appreciate. The lumpia were great, and the pancit was also good. The bitter squash in the other dish was challengingly bitter - but otherwise we felt the food was fresh and well prepared. The lumpia was the highlight - it really hit the spot and brought back a lot of nostalgia. The pancit order was HUGE - make sure you have someone to share it with with you - it was about 4 servings by my assessment. It is a little bit of a different palate than some other Asian foods - but i think it is interesting and flavorful. If you haven't had food from the PI, this is a good local option. The service was friendly, and the restaurant also seemed very clearn. Give them a try! ”

“ First time in! There were only two of us dining so we kept our selections simple this go round. However, will be sure to order ala carte entrees on our next visit. We watched as the neighboring tables were being served their entrees. Very large portions. Definitely fantastic for family style meals. Everything passing our table looked deliciously plated and amazing. We could hear the diners speaking of how the flavors were very well balanced and prepared very tasty. Our selections were prepared very well also. The lechon skin was crisp and meat very tender. The Bangus fried very nicely with just enough crisp and not greasy at all. Service was very welcoming and pleasant. Staff very attentive, kind and accommodating. Made for a very enjoyable experience. Very casual eatery, but inviting. Highly recommend if you're in Santa Rosa. If you are new to Pilipino cuisine you will enjoy Tambayan. We also observed many take out orders being picked up during our meal. Very encouraging sign. “ What a wonderful experience. Small family owned business with absolutely delightful staff. It feels funny to call them "staff" because they are so lovely and kind. Ordered adobo chicken, garlic fried rice, sautéed bok choy, white rice and for dessert cassava cake and one ice cream. Almost forgot we also ordered fried chicken skin on stick and BBQ pork on a stick. Both absolutely delish. The chicken skin lightly dusted with a very fine spice that tastes wonderful. The place is warm, friendly, inviting and oh so friendly. The lovely young servers said their restaurant is fashioned like if you were in the Philippine's. I've never been there but it feels like what I might imagine. Btw, the ube ice cream is super delish so be sure to order. The cassava cake equally amazing and served warm. Perfect cake and ice cream combo. lol You gotta try this place. You'll return again and again. Can hardly wait to bring family here. ”

“ We were excited to hear about a Filipino restaurant in Santa Rosa! A friend had gotten take out that they really enjoyed so we decided to give it a try on a Saturday evening. We were immediately greeted by a delightful server named Kerry. He was all smiles. I explained that this was our first visit and could he recommend some dishes. He has several favorites so we took his advice and we ordered the pork lumpia appetizer, lechon kawali (fried pork) and chicken ginataan (coconut milk sauce with chayote, carrots). The lechon kawali was beautifully prepared, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It came with a dipping sauce and a dish of pickled relish. The chicken ginataan was very creamy and mild tasting. It looked like a bowl of curry but it is seasoned with turmeric so not spicy. I had to look up what a chayote is. lol! Not sure if I've had it before but it appears to be a squash. My dish came with a scoop of white rice. Kerry was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Very friendly, pleasant, attentive and willing to share his knowledge of the Filipino cuisine. We enjoyed our meal and as we were leaving, he thanked us for coming in. We had a very positive experience and enjoyed trying Filipino food as it's not a common find around here. Look for the Chevron station and the restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center next to Anytime Fitness. ”
